Nintendo is a globally recognized gaming company known for its iconic video game consoles, characters, and franchises. Founded in 1889 as a playing card company, it evolved into a leader in the video game industry by the late 20th century. The Nintendo Switch 2 is a hybrid console — play it docked on your TV or handheld on the go, no extra setup needed to switch between the two. Setup basics: attach the Joy-Con 2 controllers to the sides of the console, connect the dock to your TV and power outlet if playing on the big screen, then power on and follow the prompts to choose your language, connect to Wi-Fi, and create (or sign into) a Nintendo Account. The console will run a "Day One" system update automatically — let it finish before diving in. Many classic and family-friendly titles (Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing) are especially approachable for newer gamers, and Nintendo also offers a free Switch Online membership tier that unlocks online play and some classic game libraries.
